Three Blogging Mistakes to Avoid

Blogging is one of your most important marketing tools. It is the showcase of your website and needs to draw people in, so they can discover your products and services and engage more with you. Here are three common mistakes businesses make with blogging.

1.      Inconsistency. The most common mistake is inconsistency. You can’t start your blog and then stop posting or start posting infrequently. I posted four times a week and then got side-lined by client work. My page views dropped significantly. Now, I’m back into blogging and need to catch up.

2.      Not engaging with your audience. It is important to engage your audience with your posts. The aim is getting them to keep reading your content and coming back for more.

3.      Not utilizing search engine optimization. With billions of people using the internet today, you are almost guaranteed that someone will find and read your blog post. Make it easier by using words that they are searching for. Use keywords that will optimize their search to increase readership to your blogs.

If you are investing your time in blogging, do it to the best of your ability. There is no more important marketing activity for your business! Check out this blog post for information you can use.
